MISSION GROUPS

Jovenes en Camino welcomes visiting mission groups and brigades.  It is by visiting Honduras and Jovenes en Camino that you can fully understand the impact of a home like Jovenes en Camino and your heart is touched in a way that you will not forget. It is through mission groups that much of the facility maintenance is done and invaluable quality time is shared with the children, by the individuals of the groups.  Some groups come to JEC to play games with the children, lead a vacation Bible school, and maybe have a pizza party.  It really does not matter if you can`t speak Spanish because a smile and a hug are always understood.

The Board of Directors desires to coordinate all missions efforts though a single contact.  Our goal is that your trip is the most effective that it can be.  Jovenes en Camino is a home for 65 boys.  Each day is filled with school, sports, chores, counseling, Bible study, homework, meal times, visitors, etc. and it is imperative that you schedule your individual/group volunteer efforts two months in advance, if possible.  In order to ensure that the director is available to meet your group and coordinate any supplies and activities and avoid conflicts, we respectfully ask that you notify Jovenes en Camino by emailing Margaret Bryson or call 615-967-5328 to inform Jovenes en Camino of your prospective days of arrival at Jovenes en Camino.  Jovenes en Camino reserves the right to refuse entry to the property by individuals/groups, if you have not given JEC prior notice, to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts at Jovenes en Camino.

If you have a group that is interested in working in Honduras and would like to serve at Jovenes en Camino, after contacting us, we will develop a needs list and inform you of ways that you might help, that you may want to consider in planning your mission effort.  Without the caring involvement of our supporters; whether financially, by visiting, by prayer and sharing the news of Jovenes en Camino, the doors would close and the children would be left to the government agencies at best.  If you are interested in serving as a volunteer intern, you must submit an intern application.   Jovenes en Camino is grateful for your support.

Jovenes en Camino is supported by churches, caring individuals, businesses and foundations world wide.
